Bathtub Giggles

Kara was getting the best laughs out of Maddy - we missed the best of them, but caught a few on tape...

Is there something on my face?

So...we did go to the grocery store...

We had to get milk and eggs...and tape Maddy on another shopping cart adventure. I did get some weird looks for video taping my child at the grocery store, but I seem to have lost any shame I may have had.

No more carseat shopping, my baby is growing up!

Maddy and I went to Costco this morning and I decided we would try her grocery cart cover thingy and let her sit like a big girl. It was seriously the cutest thing I've ever freakin seen. Everyone stopped and stared at the little precious flower and Maddy just looked around smiling back at everyone. I was embarassed, but I had to take pics. Then some lady said - do you want me to take one of both of you? I felt so lame, but seeing as I didn't know anyone around me....heck ya!

I think we might go to the grocery store this afternoon just so I can see her in the cart again. These pics don't do her justice...maybe I'll take a video of it later...sigh...

Maddy in a blue dress with her Grammie

Sorry mom - I think you said you were over "Grammie" but it has stuck with me. Anywho, Grammie, and Maddy's Aunt Kara came over Saturday morning. After feeding her a bit and of course taking pictures, we went to lunch at the Cheesecake factory and did a little shopping. Maddy was fun at lunch (for a bit at least). Playing with spoons, menus, special menus, sugar packets...

In the evening we went to our friends Derek and Heidi's house for dinner and to watch the UFC fight. Heidi and her sister both have 1 month old babies - Dillon and Phoenix - so fun to see such tiny people! I can't believe Maddy was ever that small. Maddy was able to use Phoenix's room and crib and went to sleep right away; Stayed out until we left at about 10 and then went right back to bed at home! She did get up a few extra times between 10 and 6, but not as bad as I thought.

Sweet Potatoes for my Sweet

Maddy went to the doctor yesterday to have her flat head checked out. Turns out she doesn't need a helmet (thank you lord baby jesus) and that it will round out on its own. Whew. They also said to start her on veggies. Yay! We're starting with sweet potatoes. She was thoroughly disgusted with them in the morning, but by afternoon she realized that sweet taters are awesome. I also had lots of questions about her schedule. I had been trying to work her towards a 2.5 nap, 4 hour schedule and it wasn't working. She was always tired and cranky and eating too much when it went awry. Doc said to go back to following her nap schedule a bit more and not tie her feeding schedule to her nap schedule. First day went well - she was a happy baby all day, had her veggies and oatmeal. Joined us at Amber's for some Mexican with her Gunther grandparents. Excellent day.

Maddy loves her Uncle Bill - and his spaghetti

Bill and his girlfriend Gen came over and Maddy was just smitten with the big guy. She wouldn't take her eyes off of him for quite a while.

Bathing is a spectator sport...

The Morrell family was over on Saturday for my mom's birthday. After breakfast we ladies watched while Maddy bathed - it was too cute. Kind of sad though, every bath since Maddy looks around to the end and other side of the tub for her audience, all excited that someone might peekaboo from out of nowhere.

Madison in her hook-on chair

Our baby is in a sort of high chair! She was sitting so well, we decided she was ready for a big girl chair. She played with her toys for a while - this will come in handy when we're out to lunch.

Her 4 hour schedule is coming along...slowly... it's been so difficult to get her to stay awake for more than an hour, but thankfully her daddy is usually around to work his magic.

Maddy's Grammie's birthday is today. The whole Morrell family is coming for some baby watching and eggs benedict. I'm looking forward to a nice morning with my family. The weather is perfect, the breeze is blowing...

Halloween Block Party

On Halloween evening we joined all of our neighbors fpr a block party. Maddy wore her black and white puppy costume and hung out with her friend the chili pepper. It was fun chatting with the couples that are also in my mom's group. Afterwards, Maddy crashed and we watched The Strangers with Bill and Gen. All in all a great Halloween!
