My mom said the video was too short...

So here's all of it! Flip software let's you combine all of your videos into one really easily and add music - not sure if I like the music, but we'll try it out.

Maddy in her overall tutu

This was taken the day after Christmas with my new Flip video thingy. Love it! Maddy loves her tutu overalls from her Gampie and insisted on wearing them all day today. I've got lots of video from Christmas that I'll post soon too.

It's all about the cookies

Our neighborhood mommy group had a Christmas party tonight. I got Maddy all gussied up and ready for some fun. I had no idea I would spend the next 2 hours running defense on the cookie table. Right when we walked in she saw them and didn't forget about them for a second. Once she got one, she savored it, walking around showing it to everyone before taking her first bite. Once it was gone, she would go wait in front of the cookie table for someone, big or small, to give her another. A 3 year old gave her 2 more in addition to the one I gave her, so she had 3 cookies for dinner. Nothing else.

Here's the first cookie. Happy girl.

Then it was gone and she went in search for more.

This kind toddler kept them coming whenever I wasn't looking.

After this she just fell apart and ran around the front room crying at people for cookies. Maybe next year.

Miscellaneous Pics

I haven't uploaded pics from my camera for a while- here are a few from the past few weeks.

My favorite Maddy video ever

While Maddy has developed all of these opinions, she has also become sooo much fun. She has always been fun and made me laugh, but it just gets better every day. She has periods of silliness that are just so awesome. This is a long video, but definitely my favorite. I could watch it over and over.

Having a little fit...

Maddy has developed some pretty strong opinions. Mostly about goldfish. She wants to eat them all the time. She knows where they are and stands at the pantry whining. Then collapses in despair when she doesn't get them. We're going on a goldfish strike for a while to break the habit. Good old Cheerios will have to do!

I won't even give this one it's own post cuz it's pretty uneventful. Maddy loooves her some Sesame Street. Glazed over, nonresponsive, in a trance in love with it. Lately she has started talking at it a bit, saying whatever word they keep saying for the day. Especially cake. This girls loves cake and can pick it out of any sentence.

Maddy's first Christmas Dress of 2009

It's been almost a month since I've posted! Horrible! I've got some videos to post. This one is of Maddy in her first Christmas dress this year.

Halloween

It's been a while coming, but I've finally strung together some footage of Maddy's 1st real Halloween. Last year she slept through the true festivities, but this year she was out there with the best of 'em. We were joined by our friends Derek and Heidi and their son Phoenix, Bill, Gen Maddy's GG. She wasn't as much into the trick or treating as she was into running the streets in the dark. We had fun and she was pooped out when we got home.

Here's another of her costumes from her Gampie. She'll be wearing it next year, it's just a tad too big.

Here are some pics from her babies group Halloween party.

The Aquarium

A few weeks ago we tagged along with our friends Kristi, Gary, Debbie and Adam and their son Dylan to the SeaLife Aquarium at Legoland in Carlsbad. Maddy was pretty unsure of the whole things for the first 20 minutes or so, I think the dim lights freaked her out a bit - she's becoming more timid in the dark these days.

Then the next 20 minutes she was happy but had to be in my arms.

Then she found a stage where people would clap for her and she felt right at home. The rest was lots of fun.

Maddy at the Park

My extremely thoughtful and generous dad gave me a new camera a few weeks ago, so I've finally been able to take more pics. Here's a few from a visit to the park with Maddy's grammie. At this age, she's getting more into wanting to explore jungle gyms and go down slides by herself. We've started having some serious meltdowns at the top of a very high drop-off that she wants to jump off of!

A couple of her costumes

Maddy's GG brought her 2 costumes this week: a unicorn and a butterfly. Of course we had to take some video... A video of her flower costume from her other grandma is coming soon.

Petting Zoo and Pumpkin Patch

We took Maddy to Tanaka Farms, an organic farm in Irvine, for our friends' son Phoenix's 1st birthday party. We took wagons to the pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, and to pick vegetables. Maddy found an onion and proceeded to eat it like an apple to everyone's horror.

Also notable, the wagon driver at one point miscalculated the mud and started skidding down the hill with the wagons jacknifing (sp?) behind the tractor pulling us. Johnny was prepared though - he had grabbed Madison and had one leg over the side of the wagon ready to jump out should the thing flip. Nice to know we're protected!

We had so much fun. Maddy started ut in the cutest pumpkin sweater but the sun came out and juiced us up to 85 degrees, so she ended up in a white t-shirt and skirt. Oh well.

Week in Videos

Piggies

Maddy's hair is getting so long! Sort of. Long for her, very short for a 16 month old. I tried some pig tails. They were a little crazy/messy, but I thought they were too cute.

Messy Maddy

Maddy has been trying to eat more independently. I appreciate the direction we're going in, but the path to get there is a messy one. She eats mostly finger foods that she feeds herself, but if she's not into the veggies we're having, I break out the baby vegetables and feed her with a spoon. For a whiel she was content with my scooping the food, then handing her the spoon to feed herself, but now she wants to scoop as well...and hold the container. This is how it ended up...

Since I'm a glutton for punishment, I made her blueberry pancakes the next morning.
