The Aquarium

A few weeks ago we tagged along with our friends Kristi, Gary, Debbie and Adam and their son Dylan to the SeaLife Aquarium at Legoland in Carlsbad. Maddy was pretty unsure of the whole things for the first 20 minutes or so, I think the dim lights freaked her out a bit - she's becoming more timid in the dark these days.

Then the next 20 minutes she was happy but had to be in my arms.

Then she found a stage where people would clap for her and she felt right at home. The rest was lots of fun.

Maddy at the Park

My extremely thoughtful and generous dad gave me a new camera a few weeks ago, so I've finally been able to take more pics. Here's a few from a visit to the park with Maddy's grammie. At this age, she's getting more into wanting to explore jungle gyms and go down slides by herself. We've started having some serious meltdowns at the top of a very high drop-off that she wants to jump off of!

A couple of her costumes

Maddy's GG brought her 2 costumes this week: a unicorn and a butterfly. Of course we had to take some video... A video of her flower costume from her other grandma is coming soon.

Petting Zoo and Pumpkin Patch

We took Maddy to Tanaka Farms, an organic farm in Irvine, for our friends' son Phoenix's 1st birthday party. We took wagons to the pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, and to pick vegetables. Maddy found an onion and proceeded to eat it like an apple to everyone's horror.

Also notable, the wagon driver at one point miscalculated the mud and started skidding down the hill with the wagons jacknifing (sp?) behind the tractor pulling us. Johnny was prepared though - he had grabbed Madison and had one leg over the side of the wagon ready to jump out should the thing flip. Nice to know we're protected!

We had so much fun. Maddy started ut in the cutest pumpkin sweater but the sun came out and juiced us up to 85 degrees, so she ended up in a white t-shirt and skirt. Oh well.
